Effective 27 September 2026 · Applies to the Monni app for iOS and watchOS (bundle identifier com.monni.finance) and its extensions: widgets, the Apple Watch app, the Share extension, notifications, and Siri shortcuts.
The data controller is Ramin Abakov, the developer of Monni ("we"). You can reach us at r.anandamide@icloud.com.
Monni collects only what the app needs to work. We show no ads, sell no data, and do not track you across other apps or websites.
| Category | Details | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Email address, name, internal user ID. With Sign in with Apple: your Apple identifier and, if you choose, Apple's private relay address instead of your real email. | Entered by you at sign-up / provided by Apple |
| Financial data | Transactions (amount, date, category, merchant, note), wallets and accounts, budgets, savings goals, debts, scheduled payments, currency, business/personal mode. | Entered by you — by hand, voice, widgets, Siri, Apple Watch, or the Apple Pay automation |
| Uploaded content | Receipt photos, bank statement files (PDF, images), messages in the AI chat, text transcribed from voice input. | Uploaded or dictated by you |
| Purchases | Monni Premium subscription status and in-app purchase history (product, date, expiry). We never receive your card details — Apple processes the payment. | Provided by Apple via RevenueCat |
| Technical data | Device push-notification token, language and time zone, app version. | Generated by the device |
What we do not collect: location, contacts, advertising identifiers (IDFA), browsing history, or card details. Monni does not connect to your bank and never asks for banking-app credentials.
About the Apple Pay automation. If you set up an automation in the Shortcuts app, Monni receives only what the automation itself passes on: the amount, the merchant name, and the card name. Card numbers, Apple Pay, and Wallet data are not accessible to the app.
About voice input. Speech recognition is performed by iOS (Apple). Monni receives the recognised text only; audio is not stored and is not sent to our servers.
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing profiling, and we do not share it with data brokers.
Some Monni features rely on external AI models. The data listed below is sent only with your explicit consent. You give it when you sign in: the text on the sign-in screen states that data for AI features is sent to OpenAI and Google. If you withdraw consent, the app offers it again before you use an AI feature. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings → AI data sharing. With consent, data is sent when you use the AI features and when the app automatically produces a weekly, monthly, or annual report; automatic report generation can be turned off separately in the app settings. Part of the recognition runs on your device and is never sent anywhere. The app remains fully usable without the AI features: manual entry, analytics, budgets, goals, scheduled payments, and the debt book work without contacting any external model.
Features that use AI: smart input (parsing text and voice commands into transactions), receipt scanning, bank-statement import, bill splitting, chat with the assistant, written insights in reports and briefings, budget suggestions.
What is sent: the text of your request or command, the receipt photo or statement text, and the data needed for the analysis — transactions for the period, balances, categories, currency. Data goes to our server and from there to the AI provider.
To whom: OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C., USA). Google Gemini (Google LLC, USA) may be used as a fallback model. Under these providers' API terms, data sent through the API is not used to train their models. API keys for AI providers are stored only on our server and never inside the app.
Important: AI output can contain mistakes. Monni's insights and suggestions are for information only and are not professional financial, tax, or legal advice.
We share data only with providers the app cannot work without, and only to the extent their service requires.

| Google LLC | Fallback AI model (section 4) — only with your consent | Data described in section 4 |

We may disclose data where required by law or a lawful request from a public authority. We do not sell or rent personal data.
Monni is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
We process data under the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Personal Data and Its Protection". Legal bases: performance of our agreement with you (providing the app and the subscription), your consent (AI features, notifications), and our legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention). Users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom also have the rights provided by the GDPR / UK GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Data is stored and processed outside your country of residence — in Singapore and the United States. By providing data you agree to this cross-border processing; we choose providers that offer protection comparable to the requirements of applicable law.
We may update this policy. We will announce material changes in the app. The current version is always available at this address; the effective date is shown at the top of the page.
